Stewardship may be the most important aspect of restoration -- without it, success will not be achieved. Pizzo maintains a full-time stewardship staff that is experienced and extensively trained in all aspects of natural areas stewardship. Stewardship activities often include brush cutting, mowing, herbicide applications, hand pulling, and prescribed fire.

Conventional solutions to erosion problems are expensive, detrimental to wildlife, unattractive and may cause increased flooding and erosion. We offer a bioengineered solution that is substantially less expensive to maintain, nurtures wildlife and allows plants to become well established.

A prescribed fire is the most cost effective form of natural area stewardship. It is the ideal solution to control invasive species, stimulate growth of native plants, reduce woody growth and increase plant and animal diversity. Pizzo offers prescriptions by analyzing various factors specific to each site.

We offer an array of native seeds and plants most of which are produced and processed by our on-site nursery.
