Pizzo Residence
I’m not just a preacher of good Ecology, I live it everyday. It’s my passion. I invite you to take a virtual walk of my property near DeKalb, IL. I live on a 35 acre wetland that we started restoring in 1998, all of which has been protected in perpetuity through the application of a conservation easement.
When I acquired the property, the wetland was infested with Reed Canary Grass, a highly invasive plant. We’ve knocked most of that out now, replacing it with 35 pounds of native seed per acre, 50 pounds of Mycorrhizal Inoculant (fungus) per acre, 5 pounds of Rhizobial Inoculant (bacteria) per acre, and 20,000 native plants. We’ve also helped our feathered friends out by installing 25 Bluebird, Bat & Warbler houses throughout the property.
Enjoy your virtual tour,
-Jack Pizzo
