Jack is founding partner of Pizzo & Associates, Ltd. (founded in 1988) and serves as the President, Senior Ecologist, and Registered Landscape Architect. Jack’s duties include directing the Management Team, marketing, speaking & education. Most importantly Jack serves as the ecological knowledge base for the company setting the philosophies, ethics, techniques and principals that have made Pizzo & Associates, Ltd. the industry leader in Ecological Restoration.
Jack is considered a prescribed fire expert and is regularly contracted as an instructor for the S-130/S-190 Wildland Firefighter training. In January of 2005 he served as an instructor at the Prescribed Fire Training Center.
Regarded as the expert in successful natural area restorations, Jack is often asked to speak at a variety of engagements. His exciting, enthusiastic, & informative presentations are in high demand and have resulted in bookings across the country including Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New York, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. He is also routinely interviewed for and/or asked to author papers for publication in print media. To date Jack has contributed to an array of media outlets such as “Let’s talk gardening with Mik Nowak” on WGN Radio, “Restoration Ecology” magazine, “Recreation” magazine, “The Landscape Contractor” magazine, “Natural Living” magazine, and “Common Interest” magazine… just to name a few.
